We’re looking for a Manager of Admissions, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will manage all aspects of the scheduling, registration, pre-admission, and admission operations in a manner that provides the highest possible customer service, the most accurate data for clinical/strategic planning, an efficient billing, and collections process, and compliance with State and Federal laws governing patient access. This includes responsibility for preregistration, registration, inpatient room placement, financial counseling, medical auditing, and the combined scheduling and registration processes in place for West Campus sub-specialty outpatient services, diagnostic & therapeutic services, surgical services, and emergency services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages key scheduling, registration, and admissions processes by monitoring and reporting performance statistics and explaining variances and adjustments when made:
- Works to resolve problem accounts.
- Ensures that all accounts have accurate demographics, primary payer source, and that all authorizations are up-to-date.
- Strives to improve scheduling, registration, and admissions processes to enhance customer service and streamline patient encounters.
- Strives to improve patient access to appointments by communicating with physicians, hospital departments, and leadership.
- Coordinates resources (staff, equipment, and space) and work assignments to meet process performance targets, departmental customer services expectations, and the overall hospital goal of increased cash collections and reduced uncompensated care in a cost-effective manner.
- Works closely with Care Management/Utilization Management Nurses and outside review nurses to ensure that all clinical information is provided to the correct payer in a timely manner to ensure insurance coverage.
- Resolves and/or minimizes potential compliance, patient access and reimbursement issues/problems by consulting with physicians, Hospital departments, and insurance companies.
- Provides ongoing training, coaching, and development of staff to meet performance expectations, gather the most accurate financial and demographic information for each patient encounter and provide the highest possible customer service.
- Liaises with TCH Treasury on matters relating to the cashiering function including:
- Patient receipting area reconciliation issues
- EPIC reporting/access issues
- Cashiering attendance issues
- Minor patient, family, and staff complaints about services provided by the cashier
- Completes timely performance appraisals for direct reports

Skills & Requirements
- Required H.S. Diploma or GED
- Preferred bachelor's degree Business, Healthcare, or related field
- 5 years progressively responsible patient registration and/or business office experience.
- Preferred Supervisory experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare field may substitute for two years of the experience requirement
