We are searching for a Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasonographer -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform routine and comprehensive ultrasound examinations for interpretation by the Maternal Fetal Medicine and Radiology faculty using specialized ultrasound equipment. In assisting the interpreting physician, the diagnostic Utrasonographer is able to obtain, review, and integrate pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimal diagnostic results, perform appropriate procedures and record anatomic, pathologic, and/or physiologic data for interpretation by the physician, record and process sonographic images and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician.

Qualifications:


• Required Technical Diploma, Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree
• RDMS-OB certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
• Nuchal Translucency certification from the Perinatal Quality Foundation preferred
• RMDS in Neurosonology preferred
• RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography preferred
• 3 years maternal fetal medicine scanning experience required

Responsibilities:

• Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established department guidelines and protocols
• Reviews clinical information, including relevant personal and family history, exposures and other risk factors
• Prepares examination report and effectively communicates ultrasound technical findings to the interpreting physician
• Record and process sonographic images and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician. Ensures that the documentation is accurate, concise, and complete
• Demonstrate the ability to competently perform first trimester screening, transvaginal assessment of cervical length, routine and comprehensive ultrasound examinations, biophysical profiles, growth assessment, and Doppler assessment of the middle cerebral artery peak velocity, umbilical artery, umbilical vein, and ductus venous in cases of twin-twin transfusion and fetal growth restriction
• Verifies and confirms patient identification and patient information including patient precautions and other vital information
• Attends and participates in department in-services, classes, seminars, workshops, and other continuing education as appropriate to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and/or job skills
• Trains new employees and others, assists other trainers as needed to expedite the workflow and training process
