We are searching for a Nuclear Radiology Specialist - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll perform exceptional quality routine and specialized radiographic procedures at the request licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists. You’ll also integrate scientific knowledge; technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Qualifications: 

•    Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
•    Must possess Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services
•    Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) certifications issued by NMTCB OR Nuclear Medicine ARRT – R.T. (N) certification issued by ARRT
•    Three (3) years of Nuclear Medicine experience

Responsibilities:

•    Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow
•    Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed
•    Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers
•    Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family and others
•    Provides information to patients, health care providers, students and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession
•    Working independently performs routine and complex, portable, STAT, urgent, on-call and intraoperative diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopy cases, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanning
•    Serves as a resource to others through assisting and educating them on procedures
•    Expert knowledge of information management systems: demonstrates systems functionalities, accurately performs functions independently and serves as a resource to others
•    Documents fluoroscopic time and radiation exposure
•    Accurately and independently performs procedures, identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise
•    Leads efforts associate with quality and process improvement
•    Positions self in challenging situations and responds with confidence, professionalism, and accuracy in the face of multiple demands and shifting priorities
•    Build rapport and facilitate communication outside of the department. Network, coordinate activities, become a sought after contact person within the working gro
