We’re searching for a Coordinator of Respiratory Care -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will demonstrate clinical expertise in the physical and educational aspects of Respiratory Care for the pediatric and neonatal patient population and their families as outlined in the unit profiles. The CRS works interdependently with and independently of the multi-disciplinary team. Scope of practice will include practitioner, educator, researcher, change agent, and administrator. The CRS is dedicated to promoting optimal patient/family care with the ultimate goal of enhanced patient/family outcomes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Serves as an advanced clinical practitioner. Collaborates with the health care team to assist in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of treatment approaches utilizing clinical knowledge, sound judgment, and problem-solving. For example, participation in interdisciplinary rounds offering a Respiratory Care perspective to patient care; evaluating response to interventions and modifying plan of care; consults with other disciplines as needed. Acts as a clinical resource to staff and other members of the health care team. For example, available by pager or phone when out of the unit; approached by staff and other members of the health care team regarding clinical issues in the area of expertise.
• Maintains clinical skills by providing direct patient care and related activities. Performs patient care and related activities within the scope of their training and responsibilities (demonstrating advanced clinical competencies in an area of expertise).
• Serves as an educational resource in expertise for the patient and family, and other health care professionals. Assesses the learning needs of staff, family, and patients.
• Conducts research and development activities for Respiratory Care.
• Facilitates change in clinical practice to positively affect patient outcomes. Serves as an administrator. Supports and facilitates the attainment of institutional goals and strategic plans.

Skills & Requirements
• Required Technical diploma Respiratory certification/registry program. Preferred Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's degree Respiratory Care. Degree may substitute for the experience
• RCP - Lic- Respiratory Care – RCP by the Texas Medical Board, RRT CERT - Cert-Reg Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Preferred Basic Life Support
• Preferred 1 year of clinical experience in both critical and non-critical areas
• Preferred 6 months of critical care experience
