We are searching for a Transport Manager/Mission Control RN – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will have 24-hour accountability for the clinical, educational, administrative, and operational activities of the Transport Services/Mission Control team. You will work collaboratively with departmental leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient and family-centered care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing 
  • Lic-Registered Nurses from the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas 
  • Cert-Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association, Cert-PALS from the American Heart Association, Cert-Neonatal Resuscitation Program from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association, Cert-Adv Cardiac LS ACLS from the American Heart Association, and Neonatal Pediatric Transport from a national certification corporation required 
  • US Passport/Int'l Doc from US Department of State or other appropriate documentation allowing international travel 
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse, Cert-Acute/CCRN Neonatal, or Cert-Acute/CCRN Pediatric, from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses OR Cert Ped Emergency RN from Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing 
  • 5 years of critical care experience

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clinical competence of nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality, age-appropriate, family-centered and cost-effective care
  • Provides supervision of nursing and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) staff and coordinates care needs during and after transport
  • Serves as liaison between physicians, family members, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
  • Provides supervision of the Mission Control team to ensure efficient operations in the transfer process and management of beds
  • Assists departmental leadership in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new staff
  • Monitors productivity and assures that staffing. And resources are aligned with patient care and operational needs
  • Participates in quality initiatives to develop and monitor clinical outcomes during transport
  • Aligns departmental goals with organizational mission and strategic plan
  • Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders to create collaborative work relationships that drive performance and quality outcomes in a timely and effective manner
  • Reviews and reports department data so stakeholders have the information needed to identify trends such as business development opportunities and shifts in transfer volume
