We’re looking for a Media Specialist I, someone who’s ready to grow with our Department and system as a whole. In this position you will provide support for the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatrician-In-Chief’s office, creating visually appealing engaging, and technically sound graphic communications of various types. This will include conceptualizing, executing and meeting deadlines on projects. Working with the Marketing Department and complying with branding standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•    Support the Department of Pediatrics by creating graphic images to support professional and academic publications and patient education.
•    Create and edit graphic images including photography, graphic design, charts, and infographics to be used in a variety of end products including print, video, presentations and collateral materials.
•    Develop and maintain templates, slideshow presentations and other materials for use by Department of Pediatrics faculty and staff. 
•    Help in developing a robust communication plan for the department of pediatrics and help to oversee adherence to this plan. 
•    Work with leadership in the Department of Pediatrics to organize projects, determine need and scope of work.
•    Support Department with interviewing and writing for annual reports and other departmental initiatives. 
•    Provide timely turnaround and communication on projects.
•    Manage schedule to ensure that work is completed.
•    Adhere to Texas Children’s Branding Guidelines.
•    Communicate effectively with customers in person, phone and e-mail.
•    Provide AV assistance As Requested for DOS Activities.
•    Manage filing system and archive all projects.
•    Provide regular status updates on all projects.
•    Ensure all images and graphics used are legal either through purchase or obtaining right to use.
•    Identify and determine cost-effective ways to provide communications solutions to the Department of Pediatrics.

Skills & Requirements
•    H.S. Diploma or equivalent required 
•    Associate's degree Art, graphic design, illustration, or related field or 2-year program in graphic design preferred
•    1 year experience as a presentation designer, graphic designer, production artist or illustrator required
•    Project management skills preferred
•    Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva Photoshop and/or other design platforms preferred.
