We are searching for a Security Officer - CSO for our Pediatric Clinics and Urgent Care facilities — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide a safe and secure environment during the shift within the boundaries of the assigned position and/or post. You will assist the general public, staff or patients in all matters of safety and security. You will patrol an assigned area and/or facility. You stand post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities; watch for criminal acts or client/parent rule infractions and address them appropriately. You respond to all incidents by providing assistance as needed, protecting personnel and property within reason, and securing the incident scene until properly relieved. You conduct initial investigation of incidents and are responsible for documenting incident details and completing all appropriate reports and forms, as necessary.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide security functions in a designated patrol position and/or posts during varying hours and shifts
  • Periodically foot patrol specific buildings assigned, observing visitors, patient and staff for compliance to the organization’s rules and protocol
  • Ensure that the required sign-in logs and documents are properly maintained as prescribed by departmental procedures
  • Operate company vehicles and other assigned duties
  • Monitor traffic and parking in designated areas
  • May respond in the case of an emergency and use AED, or assist in providing basic life support, and utilize Personal Protective Equipment
  • Attend and complete hospital and departmental required training
     

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
 

Skills & Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED Required
  • LCSO - Commissioned Security Officer License by the Texas Department of Public Safety, acquired within 90 days of entering the role 
  • TDR - Texas Driver's License by the State of Texas, acquired within 90 days of entering the role
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check demonstrating a clear driving record as defined by the routine driver qualifications outlined in the Texas Children's Fleet Safety Policy and Procedure by the job entry date. Must also maintain a clean driving record
  • 1 year of Security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience required
  • A bachelor’s degree may substitute for the 1 year of required Security, law enforcement, or military experience
