We’re looking for a Assistant Director of Nursing Excellence & Inquiry, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will be responsible for participating in strategic and operational leadership to support the advancement and innovation of nursing in the domains of clinical practice, professional development and education, nursing quality, and nursing research. The assistant director is responsible to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives in support of the domains. Collaboration with multiple Inter-professional teams and leaders is key to drive success.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other leaders to identify organizational needs related to the defined job role. Provides leadership in the communication of short- and long-term departmental goals to team members to secure buy-in. Supports and acts as a resource for other nursing leaders and ensures high visibility of self and team members in clinical settings to provide support to units and departments.
  • Supports and drives the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, performance standards and initiatives.  
  • Facilitates the integration of professional nursing concepts (i.e. Magnet National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI)) and standards of practice into nursing programs and initiatives.
  • Leads and supports highly complex projects and provides technical expertise on programs, processes and best Clinical Practice: Supports the advancement of clinical programs and services to a level that exceeds regional, national and best clinical practices.
  • Develops and coordinates communications to the organization on related strategies, projects and initiatives. Maintains effective working relationships with peers across the organization. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support operational objectives. Leads the development of a culture of innovation and inquiry through spreading and sustaining evidence-based practice and leadership.  Develops and maintains relationships with colleagues across the nation regarding quality and research best practices.
  • Leads with primary fiscal responsibility for the department, by monitoring budgets for all related cost centers and programs in order to meet or exceed established financial targets. Ensures a high-level of fiscal responsibility.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports and appropriate interdepartmental liaisons to ensure the achievement of identified goals.

 

Requirements:

  • Required bachelor's degree Nursing and master's degree Nursing, Business, or healthcare related field
  • Preferred Doctorate Nursing, Business, or healthcare related field
  • Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • Preferred Nursing certification from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is preferred
  • Required 5 years Nursing experience, including three years of management/leadership experience
  • Required Completion of nursing certification within 2 years of assuming the role
  • Preferred magnet program experience highly preferred
