“The most amazing thing about Texas Children’s is the culture,” says Assistant Director of Surgical Advanced Practice, Matthew Borges.
As he experienced those around him at every level embracing Texas Children’s core value to lead tirelessly, Matthew found support to cultivate his own leadership skills, becoming one of a select group to receive the Mark A. Wallace Catalyst Leadership Award in 2020. Recognized for his steadfast leadership and embodiment of Texas Children’s core values, Matthew has become a leader to watch.
“In everything we do we are leading,” says Matthew.
Whether mentoring other clinicians or organizing the prep work for Texas Children’s largest expansion effort in Austin, the value to lead tirelessly guides Matthews actions, earning him accolades professionally and the respect of his Texas Children’s community.
“My commitment is to bring the best version of myself inside the walls of Texas Children’s but also keep in mind that our organization transcends the walls of this hospital,” Says Matthew.
